CITY Looks For Revenge Against FC Dallas
St. Louis CITY SC is back in action on Saturday night at Energizer Park against FC Dallas.
CITY had arguably their worst performance under David Critchley when they played at Dallas on July 19th and lost 3-0, so they’ll be looking for some revenge in this one.
Goals Still Flying In CITY Games
While it has been a poor season for CITY, their games certainly haven’t lacked entertainment - at least since Critchley took over. There has been an average of exactly 4 goals per game in the 13 matches with Critchley at the helm.
CITY has also been competitive at home with a record of 3W-3L-1D during that stretch. However they are looking to snap a three-game losing streak overall, with their last victory coming on August 9th against Nashville.
Dallas Playing Better
It has been a subpar season for FC Dallas as well, as they reside outside the playoff picture in 12th place in the Western Conference. They are in a pretty good run of form though, as they are unbeaten in their last three matches with all of those games coming against teams currently in playoff position.
You can count on Dallas to score in this one, as they have found the back of the net in 10 of their last 11 matches and CITY has conceded at least once in 19 consecutive games.
My Picks
I actually have two bets for this game.
First, I don’t think CITY should be an odds-on favorite here to win the game. CITY’s victories have been few and far between, and FC Dallas has gotten results against far superior teams lately. So I like Dallas +0.5 at -125.
And I’m not going to overthink this - the over 3 in CITY games needs to be an automatic bet until further notice.
Since Critchley took over as manager, if you would have bet the over 3 in all 13 CITY games, you would have lost money only one time with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss, and 5 pushes.
If CITY gives up 2 goals, which is something they have done in 16 of their last 22 games, you are guaranteed to win at least one of these bets and there’s a very good chance you win both.
