CITY, Houston Square Off On Saturday

St. Louis CITY SC returns home to take on the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night at Energizer Park.

The two clubs last met on June 28th in Houston, with the Dynamo coming away with a 1-0 victory.

Expect CITY To Come Out Hard

CITY will be playing angry after a highly questionable officiating decision at the end of the game prevented them from getting a result at Vancouver this past Saturday. CITY has held second half leads in each of their last two games, but they fell at Chicago and at Vancouver by the same 3-2 scoreline.

CITY is back home this week where they have performed well since David Critchley took over as manager. In their last six games at Energizer Park, they have a record of 3W-2L-1D.

Houston Struggling Right Now

The Dynamo head to St. Louis on a six-game winless run that includes 3 losses and 3 draws. They have conceded at least one goal in 7 straight games and 10 of their last 11. The only game they kept a clean sheet during that stretch was the 1-0 win over CITY.

Houston resides outside the Western Conference playoff picture in 12th place with 29 points.

My Pick

After they very well could have / should have gotten results in each of their last two games, I expect CITY to come out hard and play well in front of their home supporters on Saturday night.

I also expect both teams to score here. I referenced Houston’s defensive stats above, and with CITY having scored in 10 of their 12 matches under Critchley, I think they’ll find the back of the net.

And CITY's defensive woes continue with them conceding at least once in 18 straight games, while the Dynamo have gotten on the scoresheet in 19 of their last 22 matches.

So while I think both teams will score, I expect CITY to get a result. Rather than take the moneyline, I recommend giving yourself protection where CITY can get a draw and you can still win your bet. The best way to do that is bet a Same Game Parlay of both teams to score with CITY in the Double Chance market (meaning a win or draw). So if the game ends 1-1 or 2-2 for example, this bet would cash.

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at +105 on DraftKings - Both Teams to Score Yes AND St. Louis CITY SC to win or tie in the Double Chance market (bet to -110)
