Blues Prospect Report December 2025: Stancl, Koromyslov, Susuyev, Burns, and World Juniors Selections (St Louis Blues)

It was an eventful week across the Blues prospect pipeline, highlighted by a hat trick in Springfield, a surge in offense from a KHL blueliner, and several updates ahead of the 2025 World Junior Championship. Here’s everything you need to know.

Jakub Stancl (LW, 2023 4th Round)

Jakub Stancl delivered the biggest performance of the week, recording his first professional hat trick in Springfield’s annual Teddy Bear Toss game. After the Thunderbirds fell behind 2–0 early to Providence, Stancl ignited the stuffed-animal storm at 14:22 of the first period, cutting the deficit to 2–1.

He struck again at 13:44 of the second to bring Springfield within a goal, then completed the hat trick at 5:28 of the third to tie the game 3–3. The Thunderbirds ultimately lost in overtime, but Stancl’s breakout night was the story of the evening.

The 20-year-old now has four goals and five points in 11 AHL games.

Arseni Koromyslov (D, 2022 4th Round)

After years of projecting as a stay-at-home defender, Arseni Koromyslov added offense to his toolkit this week in the KHL.

On Dec. 3, he scored his first goal of the season in Tractor Chelyabinsk’s 5–3 loss to Bars Kazan. Two nights later, he followed that performance with two primary assists in a tight 3–2 loss to CSKA Moscow.

Koromyslov’s season-to-date numbers reflect a defender taking on more responsibility: 1 goal, 12 points, +4 rating, 28 PIM, 17:47 TOI, including 2:26 per game on the penalty kill, along with 66 hits and 57 blocked shots. It’s one of his most well-rounded campaigns to date.

Quinton Burns (D, 2023 3rd Round)

Down in the ECHL, Quinton Burns celebrated a milestone of his own.

The former Kingston Frontenacs captain scored his first professional goal with the Florida Everblades this week. After an eight-goal, 49-point final OHL season, Burns now sits at two points (1G, 1A) in 10 games as he adjusts to the pro level.

Nikita Susuyev (LW, AHL)

After missing time in November, Nikita Susuyev returned to the Springfield lineup and immediately made an impact. The winger posted three assists in three games, including two secondary helpers, and provided some much-needed stability down a forward group missing Matt Luff, Aleksanteri Kaskimäki, and Dalibor Dvorský, all currently in St. Louis due to injuries.

His return comes at a crucial time for a Thunderbirds team stretched thin by NHL recalls.

World Juniors Updates

Härenstam, Jiricek, and Jecho Heading to WJC

Goaltender Love Härenstam was officially named a starter for Team Sweden’s World Juniors squad, giving the Blues an important presence in net on the international stage.

He’ll be joined by defenseman Adam Jiricek and forward Adam Jecho, who posted two goals and seven points in seven games at last year’s tournament for Czechia’s U20 team.

Justin Carbonneau Likely Left Off Team Canada

One notable omission appears to be 2025 first-round pick Justin Carbonneau. According to Scott Wheeler of The Athletic, Carbonneau is not among the forwards expected to travel with Team Canada for the tournament.

For a prospect who has been trending upward over the past year, it’s a disappointing development — but not an unusual one, given Canada’s depth and the fierce competition for roster spots.
