Blues Go For Three In A Row

The St. Louis Blues look to win a third straight game for the first time this season when they host the Anaheim Ducks tonight.

The Blues had a thrilling weekend of back-to-back one-goal victories at home to pull within 2 points of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Blues Missing Players

The Blues got some bad news today that Jimmy Snuggerud had to be placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Also, Alexey Toropchenko is week-to-week after suffering burns to his legs in a home accident.

The injuries threaten to halt the momentum that the Blues have created after picking up at least one point in 10 of their last 12 games.

Ducks Flying High

The Ducks come to town in first place in the Pacific Division. They have cooled down a bit lately though, losing 6 of their last 10 games.

The Ducks have a potent offense that averages 3.60 goals per game, ranking 2nd in the NHL.

My Pick

It’s an exciting day with legal sports betting going live in Missouri, and one good rule of thumb in sports gambling is to bet with your head and not your heart.

My head is telling me the Blues are too big of a favorite here.

I thought this line would come out close to a pick ‘em or Anaheim as a small favorite, but the Blues are a pretty substantial favorite here. While it’s nice to see them playing better hockey, I think it’s a tough ask for them to win a third straight game against a good team - in particular with the injuries that sprung up today that will shuffle the line combinations.

Back the quack in this one.

Pick: Ducks on the moneyline at +124 on DraftKings (bet to +100)
