Tigers Take On Panthers
The Missouri Tigers continue their seven-game homestand when they host the Prairie View A&M Panthers tonight at Mizzou Arena.
The Tigers are 3-0 so far on the homestand and 4-0 overall with an average margin of victory this season of 21.8 points.
Tigers Look To Stay Undefeated
Mizzou is coming off its most impressive victory of the season in a 83-60 rout of Big Ten foe Minnesota last time out. Mark Mitchell led the way with 18 points and is tops on the team for the season with averages of 20.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
The Tigers have been shooting the lights out so far this season, as they rank 12th in the country in two-point field goal percentage (64.5%) and 16th in three-point field goal percentage (44.2%).
Punchless Panthers
Prairie View A&M comes to Columbia with a 2-2 record with two wins over non-Division One opponents and blowout losses by 43 points at Wichita State and 27 points at Oklahoma State.
The Panthers are one of the country’s worst teams, as they are ranked 343rd in KenPom out of 365 Division One schools.
My Lean
This game begins a stretch of four straight against schools that should not be able to threaten the Tigers, meaning they should be 8-0 when they head to South Bend on December 2nd to take on Notre Dame.
A 35.5-point spread is obviously a massive number, so if you’re going to bet this one, I would lean with Prairie View A&M. The Tigers will likely not have as much urgency and intensity as their last game against Minnesota, and maybe more importantly, they are due for some shooting regression with how hot they’ve been from the field so far this season.
KenPom projects this game to have a 30-point margin, and that would be enough to get you to the window as a Prairie View A&M backer.
