Blues Finish Homestand

The St. Louis Blues close out their four-game homestand tonight when they host the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Blues have grabbed points in every game on the homestand so far, but they have left some meat on the bone with overtime losses to Seattle and Philadelphia.

Hofer Better Of Late

Joel Hofer is expected to make the start after Jordan Binnington was in net last night against the Flyers. After a rough start to the season, Hofer has been much improved lately. He has stopped 101 of 110 shots over last four appearances (.918 save percentage).

The Blues have split the second games of back-to-backโ€™s so far this season with a 5-2 loss to Detroit and a 3-0 win at Buffalo via a Hofer shutout.

VGK In A Rut

The Golden Knights come to St. Louis on a four-game losing streak with all of those defeats coming at home. They may welcome a road trip with a 3-1-2 away record this season.

Former Blue Ivan Barvashev is off to a terrific start for Vegas with 7 goals and 9 assists in 16 games this season. The 2019 Stanley Cup champion leads VGK over the last 5 games with 4 goals and 2 assists.

My Lean

Despite the disappointing loss last night, I am still leaning on the side of optimism with the Blues. They have secured at least one point in five of their last six games, and overall, the Blues have failed to win any of their four games that went to overtime. That is due to turn sooner than later.

The Blues also may be catching Vegas at the right time, and with a couple off days coming up before a five-game road trip, I think the Blues are in a good situational spot to empty the tank tonight to grab a win in front of their home fans.

The Blues have alternated losses and wins over their last seven games. If youโ€™re going to bet this one tonight, I would bank on that trend continuing.

Lean: Blues on the moneyline at +124 on DraftKings
