Blues Go For Five Straight

The St. Louis Blues aim for their season-high fifth straight win when they host the Chicago Blackhawks this afternoon.

After their dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over the Canucks on Thursday, the Blues are now the favorite on DraftKings to grab the final playoff in the Western Conference. Below are the updated odds to make the playoffs for the four contenders:

Blues +170

Canucks +195

Flames +245

Utah +650

Blues Scoring Goals For Fun

The Blues’ hot streak that has carried them into playoff contention began the last time the Blackhawks came to town. In the final game before the two-week break for the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Blues won a wild 6-5 contest at Enterprise Center. That began a stretch that has seen them go 11-2-2 over their last 15 games.

The Blues have outscored their opponents by an average of 4.13 to 2.66 during this 15-game run. They also racked up 6 goals in their other meeting with the Blackhawks this season in a 6-2 rout in the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field.

Blackhawks Keep Losing

The Blackhawks come to St. Louis riding a six-game losing streak along with having the second-worst record in the NHL. They’ve scored two or fewer goals in all six of those contests.

The Hawks have the third-worst defense in the NHL, as they allow 3.54 goals per game. They’ve also lost 80% of their road games this season (7-23-5).

My Pick

At this point, it’s not if we bet the Blues - it’s how we bet the Blues.

In looking for a way to knock down that huge moneyline price on the Blues, I’ve found a Same Game Parlay on DraftKings that I think is the ideal way to go.

Dylan Holloway has registered at least one point in 5 straight games. He also has at least one point in 11 of his last 13 (84.6% hit rate) and 25 of his last 35 (71.4% hit rate). Combining Holloway to record a point with the Blues to win provides a much more palatable price.

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at -105 on DraftKings - Blues on the moneyline and Dylan Holloway to record at least one point (bet up to -120)
