The St. Louis Blues (36-28-7) extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks (20-41-9) at Enterprise Center on Saturday afternoon.

Game Recap

Despite a slow start, with Chicago outshooting them 6-5 in the first period, the Blues found their rhythm late. Robert Thomas opened the scoring 15 minutes into the second period, batting in a loose puck off a deflected pass from Dylan Holloway—reminiscent of a play straight out of the Harlem Globetrotters' playbook.

Alexey Toropchenko doubled the lead late in the second period, finishing off a slotted pass from Radek Faksa with 2:40 remaining. However, Chicago responded on the penalty kill after a failed Justin Faulk defensive effort led to a shorthanded goal by Ilya Mikheyev with 54 seconds left in the period.

Nathan Walker restored the two-goal cushion in the third, slotting home a patient setup from Toropchenko to make it 3-1. Zack Bolduc sealed the win, capitalizing on a rebound from a Philip Broberg shot to secure the 4-1 victory for the Blues.

Hofer made 26 saves, allowing only one goal (.963 save percentage).

With the win—and a loss from Vancouver—the Blues now sit two points clear in the second Western Conference wildcard spot with Calgary trailing behind.

A Farewell for Maroon

St. Louis native and key member of the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup run, Pat Maroon, announced prior to the game that he plans to retire after this season. In his final hometown game, he received a standing ovation from the Enterprise Center crowd and was named the No. 1 star of the night. He also got into a fight with Tyler Tucker in the third, getting the crowd on their feet one last time.
