Blues Begin New Year At Home

The St. Louis Blues kick off 2026 with a home game against the Vegas Golden Knights this afternoon at Enterprise Center.

VGK won the previous meeting this season 4-1 back on November 15th in Vegas.

Blues Need A Win

The Blues have dropped two in a row after running into red-hot teams in Buffalo and Colorado earlier this week. They gave up 10 total goals in those games and rank 4th-worst in the NHL allowing 3.44 goals per game this season.

The Blues have struggled to contain the Golden Knights recently, as Vegas has put up 4 goals in each of the last four meetings.

Vegas Slumping

The Knights come to St. Louis in a funk, having lost three in a row and six of their last seven. Defense has failed them during this stretch. VGK has allowed 29 goals during this seven-game span (4.14 goals per game).

This is still a very good hockey team though, as Vegas sits in second place in the Pacific Division. The Knights have also been solid on the road with a 9-4-5 record away from home.

My Lean

The Blues have been very poor offensively for quite a while now, but if you’re going to bet this game, I’d take a shot on the over.

Vegas is leaking goals right now, and with a different vibe with a day game during a holiday week, I just have a gut feeling the Blues bust out of their goal-scoring slump for one day at least.

But I’m also not confident the Blues can hold the Knights down. This is a Vegas team with a lot of firepower, and as referenced above, the Blues haven’t had much luck slowing them down in their recent meetings.

Lean: Over 5.5 at -125 on DraftKings
