In a surprising turn of events, two struggling teams will square off at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon when the Kansas City Chiefs meet the Baltimore Ravens. One of these perennial powers will unfathomably be 1-3 after Sunday’s matchup.
The Ravens are 1-2, but they very easily could be 3-0 if Derrick Henry could hold onto the ball. The future Hall of Famer has lost costly fumbles in Baltimore’s losses to the Bills and Lions.
Kansas City picked up its first win of the season last week on the road against the Giants, but it wasn’t exactly an inspiring performance against a now-benched Russell Wilson.
The Chiefs’ offense still does not look right, as just about nothing is coming easy to them like we have seen in years past. Xavier Worthy should be back this week and that will help, but I just don’t think the Chiefs can do enough to keep up with Lamar Jackson and this high-powered Baltimore attack.
Despite being 1-2, the Ravens are averaging 37 points per game. I think the only teams that can beat them right now are explosive teams that can match them on offense, and the Bills and Lions are two of the few teams in the NFL that fit that mold.
Maybe the Chiefs can get back to being one of those teams once Rashee Rice returns, but I just don’t see it at all right now.
I’m not scared of betting against Patrick Mahomes here as a home underdog. I think the Ravens come out angry and absolutely roll - something along the lines of 31-17. Baltimore -2.5 is my favorite standalone bet on the NFL board this weekend.
Pick: Ravens -2.5 at -120 on DraftKings (bet to -6.5)
