Cards Head To Milwaukee
The St. Louis Cardinals open a three-game series tonight in Milwaukee against the first-place Brewers.
Both teams head into tonight’s action looking to snap three-game losing streaks, as the Redbirds got swept in Seattle and the Brewers dropped three games in Texas to the Rangers.
Pallante Starts The Opener
Andre Pallante will be on the mound tonight looking to build off a strong start his last time out. The right-hander allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk in 6 innings last Saturday against the Giants. It was just his second quality start since July 1st.
The Cards rallied in the ninth inning to win that game against the Giants for a rare victory in a Pallante start. They are just 2-11 in Pallante’s last 13 appearances.
Brewers Top Team In MLB
Despite their current losing streak, the Brewers continue to hold MLB’s best record at 89-58. They lead the Cubs by 5.5 games in the NL Central with just 15 games remaining.
Quinn Priester will head to the hill for Milwaukee tonight. While the Cardinals have struggled to win Pallante starts, it has been the exact opposite for the Brewers with Priester. Incredibly, Milwaukee has won each of his last 17 starts. Priester has done his part with a 2.79 ERA during that span.
My Pick
Never mess with a winning streak when it comes to sports gambling. How do you not find a way to back the Brewers with that recent data with Priester and Pallante?
I’m not in the business of laying -194 on moneylines. You will have a really difficult time being profitable long-term in sports gambling if you are betting odds like that. So look for an add-on in order to get a better price.
I recommend taking the Brewers to win and tacking on Pallante to give up at least 2 earned runs for a much easier to stomach price of -135. Pallante has permitted 2 earned runs or more in 24 of his 28 starts this season, and obviously the more runs he gives up, the more likely it is that Milwaukee will continue their insane winning streak behind Priester.
Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at -135 on DraftKings - Brewers on the moneyline AND Andre Pallante to allow 2+ earned runs (bet to -140)
