The fifth Stifel Charity Classic presented by Compliance Solutions tees off Friday at Norwood Hills Country Club, with gates opening at 8 a.m.
The day begins with the Folds of Honor Friday Opening Ceremony at 8:05 a.m., featuring a presentation of colors and flag-folding by the Scott Air Force Base Fire Department Color Guard, the National Anthem sung by NFL Hall of Famer and former St. Louis Cardinals tight end Jackie Smith, and a patriotic parachute demonstration by the Legacy Expeditions Parachute Team. A Folds of Honor scholarship recipient will strike the ceremonial first tee shot, followed by remarks from tournament and sponsor representatives, Gov. Mike Kehoe, and Rocky Sickmann, a former U.S. Marine and hostage during the 1979 Iranian Hostage Crisis.
Fans are encouraged to wear red, white and blue throughout the day in support of Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to families of fallen or disabled military members and first responders. Ribbon pins and challenge coins will also be distributed.
The first round of tournament play runs from 9:10 a.m. to 11:22 a.m., with live coverage on Golf Channel from 1 to 4 p.m.
Friday closes with a new addition to the tournament schedule: O.A.R. at the Community Concert presented by CarShield. The concert takes place on Hole No. 18 of the East Course, with an opening act at 4 p.m. and O.A.R. taking the stage at 5 p.m. Access is included with a valid Friday or weekly tournament ticket.
