The opening day of the Stifel Charity Classic set the tone at Norwood Hills with the official tournament qualifier on the West Course. Tommy Gainey (-8) secured medalist honors, while Brett Wetterich and Arjun Atwal advanced in a playoff to claim the final two spots in the field. Fans also got their first glimpse of PGA TOUR Champions pros arriving in St. Louis, preparing for the week ahead on the range, short-game area, and putting green.
Tuesday promises to be one of the busiest days of the week:
Charity Putting Challenge (4:30–6 p.m.) – The fourth annual event pairs PGA TOUR Champions pros with junior golfers and local charities. Ten teams will compete over a specially designed nine-hole miniature golf course, with bonus prize money awarded to the top three charities.
Golf on the Pitch (1:45–2:15 p.m.) – St. Louis CITY SC players Chris Durkin and Tomas Totland join PGA TOUR Champions pro Robert Karlsson for a chipping challenge at CITYPARK. Each successful chip generates donations to Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, Marygrove, RecoVET, and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.
Special Tournament Announcement (6:15 p.m.) – Inside the Norwood Hills Ballroom, Stifel executives, PGA TOUR Champions officials, and Governor Mike Kehoe will unveil important news about the future of the Stifel Charity Classic.
