CITY Head To Houston
St. Louis CITY SC look to snap a three-game winless streak when they travel to face the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night.
After winning their first game under interim manager David Critchley, CITY has posted two losses and a draw, with the most recent match being an ugly 4-2 home defeat to Orlando City on Wednesday.
CITY Games Are Suddenly Goalfests
The loss to Orlando continued a trend of high-scoring CITY matches. Over the last 10 CITY games, there has been an average of 3.8 total goals scored.
CITY has failed to keep a clean sheet in all 10 of those games. In fact, they’ve only held their opponent scoreless once in their last 15 matches.
Houston Struggling As Well
Houston is having defensive issues as well. The Dynamo are riding a three-game losing streak, and all three of those defeats have come by a 3-1 scoreline.
They are having no problem getting on the scoresheet however. The Dynamo have scored at least one goal in 8 straight games and in 13 of their last 14.
My Pick
I’m writing this article early because I see very good value on my pick, and I expect that value to be gone by the time matchday rolls around on Saturday.
I’m going to take the exact same play that cashed in the first half of the Orlando game, and that’s both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the game. This bet has cashed in all four CITY games under Critchley, and it has hit in 8 of CITY’s last 10 MLS matches as well.
This bet has also been a winner in three straight Houston games and in four of their last five. Both teams are leaking goals right now, and with a short turnaround heading into this game, I see no reason to expect anything different on Saturday.
I saw this play at +100 on DraftKings on Wednesday night, and it is now up to -115 as I write this article on Thursday morning. I expect that number to push north of -130 by Saturday night, so if you’re on board with my logic, I would get on this bet sooner than later.
Pick: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at -115 on DraftKings (bet to -130)
