The St. Louis Blues boast a promising crop of young talent, and few combinations are more exciting than the projected future line of Otto Stenberg, Dalibor Dvorsky, and Jimmy Snuggerud. Looking ahead to the 2027–28 NHL season, this trio could headline a dynamic second line—one built on speed, skill, and scoring punch. If their development stays on track, the Blues might have a homegrown trio capable of driving offensive production and energizing fans for years to come.

Projecting the Pieces

Otto Stenberg: The Playmaking Dynamo

At just 20 years old in 2024–25, Stenberg split his season between the SHL (25 GP, 3 G, 3 A, -7) and AHL (38 GP, 5 G, 12 A, +5), showing flashes of two-way responsibility and offensive creativity. His 21 points in 18 U20 international games underline his elite hockey sense and vision.

2027–28 Projection: A middle-six left winger who racks up 15 goals, 35 assists, and a +5 rating over a full NHL season. Expect him to drive play with intelligent cycling, forechecking, and crisp distribution.

Dalibor Dvorsky: The Centerpiece

Following a dominant OHL campaign in 2023–24 (52 GP, 45 G, 43 A), Dvorsky transitioned to the AHL in 2024–25 and held his own with 45 points (21 G, 24 A) in 61 games, though his -10 rating pointed to areas for growth defensively.

2027–28 Projection: A top-six center putting up 25 goals, 40 assists, and a +10 rating. Dvorsky’s ability to win faceoffs, read the ice, and create high-danger chances will make him the engine of this line.

Jimmy Snuggerud: The Sniper

Snuggerud exploded in college this year, jumping from 34 to 51 points (24 G, 27 A) and earned a seven-game NHL call-up (1 G, 3 A). His high IQ, strong two-way game, and elite shot give him clear NHL upside.

2027–28 Projection: A reliable right wing sniper posting 30 goals, 30 assists, and a +15 rating. Expect him to be the finisher on this line, cashing in on Dvorsky’s setups and Stenberg’s puck support.

Line Fit and Chemistry

This projected line thrives on complementary strengths:

  • Stenberg (LW): Forechecking pressure, possession-driving passes, and steady zone play.
  • Dvorsky (C): Strong on draws, high-end vision, and a scoring touch.
  • Snuggerud (RW): Goal-scoring instincts, a heavy shot, and a knack for getting open.

Imagine: Dvorsky wins a faceoff, Stenberg retrieves and cycles, and Snuggerud rips a one-timer top shelf. That’s the blueprint—a line built on possession, smart decisions, and offensive timing.

On the power play, Dvorsky likely mans the bumper or half-wall, Stenberg works from the boards, and Snuggerud plants himself in the right circle. Together, they could easily account for 20–25 power play goals.

Projected 2027–28 Output (Over 82 Games)

  • Stenberg: 15 G, 35 A, 50 PTS, +5
  • Dvorsky: 25 G, 40 A, 65 PTS, +10
  • Snuggerud: 30 G, 30 A, 60 PTS, +15
  • Line Total: 70 goals, 105 assists, 175 points, +30

At even strength, expect 50–55 goals from this trio. Projected possession metrics (52–55% Corsi) would put them in strong company league-wide, making them a dependable second line with first-line upside.

Of course, this vision comes with caveats:

  • Defensive Growth: Dvorsky (-10 AHL) and Stenberg (-7 SHL) must refine their defensive habits.
  • Pro Readiness: Stenberg’s SHL production and Dvorsky’s AHL learning curve indicate both may need another season or two to adjust fully to NHL pace.
  • Durability: While all three have avoided major injuries, the grind of an NHL season will be a new test.

By the 2027–28 season, the Blues could roll out a second line that’s fast, skilled, and cohesive. If this group hits their projected ceilings, they won’t just be a capable supporting unit—they could be the foundation of the next generation in St. Louis.

So what do you think, Blues fans—could this be the line that brings the roar back to Enterprise Center? Let us know in the comments.
