Huge Game In St. Louis
It’s a massive matchup on Thursday at Enterprise Center as the St. Louis Blues host the Vancouver Canucks.
The Blues and Canucks are tied for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with Vancouver having one game in hand. Below are the updated odds to make the playoffs on DraftKings for the four teams battling for that last spot in the postseason:
Canucks +125
Blues +170
Flames +300
Utah +650
Blues Hot, Hot, Hot
The Blues are now 10-2-2 over their last 14 games, and their 20 points since returning from the 4 Nations Face-Off on February 22nd are the most in the NHL.
Not only are the Blues hot, but they’ve been winning in style too. During this 14-game run, they have outscored their opponents 58-37 for an average score of 4.14 to 2.64.
Canucks Heating Back Up
The Canucks are just 6-7-0 since the two-week break, but they appear to be rounding back into form with three wins in their last four games, including an impressive 6-2 rout of the Western Conference-leading Winnipeg Jets in their last game on Tuesday.
One of the Canucks’ strengths is their penalty kill, as their 82.6% kill rate ranks fourth in the NHL. They’ll need it tonight against a hot Blues power play that is 8-for-23 (34.7%) over the last eight games.
My Pick
Maybe I’m getting caught up in the excitement of this playoff push, but I’m inclined to want to keep finding ways to bet on the Blues until this hot streak runs out - if it even runs out at all before the end of the regular season.
Besides the recent hot form, the Blues have also had the Canucks’ number with a record of 10-3-2 over the last 15 matchups.
The books favor the Blues here as well, and the -135 moneyline price is a little high for my liking. So I’ll knock it down to -120 by including Both Team to Score in a Same Game Parlay on DraftKings, meaning any Blues win that’s not a shutout gets me to the window.
Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at -120 on DraftKings - Blues on the moneyline and Both Teams to Score
