One of the biggest questions for the Battlehawks was answered with just weeks left to spare: who would be the team’s offensive coordinator? Luckily, a new social media post revealed that wide receivers coach Phil McGeoghan would serve as both OC and in his previous role coaching WRs and also revealed a former NFL starter would be the team’s new QBs coach.

McGeoghan is in his second year as the team’s wide receivers coach and will be an offensive coordinator for the second time in his career. Before his time with the Battlehawks, he served as WR Coach for the Colorado Buffaloes and the Los Angeles Chargers, where he coached Keenan Allen to two Pro Bowl seasons and several franchise records.
McGeoghan may have used that past knowledge of coaching high-profile wideouts to propel Hakeem Butler toward his Offensive Player of the Year award last season. Butler caught 45 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns during the 2024 campaign and helped the Battlehawks clinch the top seed in the XFL Division.
Wallace played eight seasons in the NFL for the Seahawks, Browns, and Packers before retiring in 2013. He started 22 games in his career, including a high of eight for the 2008 Seahawks. He joins a Battlehawks QB room with three fresh faces looking to break out and claim the starting role.
