The St. Louis Blues wrap up a four-game homestand tonight when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Enterprise Center.
The Blues lost at Columbus 3-2 in the previous meeting this season back on November 1st.
Blues Bad Bet As A Favorite
The Blues are 1-1-1 on the homestand so far after snapping a five-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over Florida on Thursday. Tonight they will be looking to win two games in a row for just the sixth time all season.
The Blues are a narrow favorite as of the time of this writing, and that has not been a good omen so far this season. They are just 4-14 on the moneyline as a favorite.
Blue Jackets Are Hot
Columbus comes to town red hot after doubling up the Blackhawks 4-2 last night in Chicago. It was the Blue Jackets’ fourth straight win and eighth victory in their last nine games.
Columbus has performed admirably in the second game of back-to-back’s this season with a record of 5-3-1.
My Lean
I typically don’t like messing with a winning streak, so if you’re going to bet this one, I would go with Columbus on the moneyline. The Blue Jackets are playing some of their best hockey of the season, while the Blues have been totally untrustworthy when trying to stack wins together.
A record of 4-14 on the moneyline as a favorite sums up much of the frustration of the St. Louis fan base this season. The Blues haven’t won nearly enough of the games they’ve been expected to win, and that’s why they are sitting at the bottom of the Central Division.
