While the Springfield Thunderbirds continue to search for consistency, several St. Louis Blues prospects across the globe are finding their rhythm early in the season. From Dalibor Dvorsky’s offensive surge in the AHL to Matvei Korotky’s breakout performance in Russia, the organization’s young talent continues to make an impact despite mixed team results.
Dvorsky Leading the Way in Springfield
Dalibor Dvorsky led all Blues prospects this week with four points (2G, 2A) over two games. The 19-year-old has now scored in back-to-back outings, netting goals against both the Providence Bruins and Hartford Wolf Pack. Despite his -3 rating, Dvorsky’s offensive play has been a bright spot for a struggling Springfield Thunderbirds squad.

The Thunderbirds have stumbled to a 1–5–0 start, ranking 30th out of 32 AHL teams while being outscored 24–15. Discipline has also been an issue early, with the team averaging 7.66 penalty minutes per game (46 total). For Dvorsky and fellow Blues prospects in Springfield, consistent five-on-five play will be crucial to turning things around.
Korotky Nets First KHL Hat Trick
Matvei Korotky stole headlines this week in the KHL with his first career hat trick, and his first multi-goal game for SKA St. Petersburg. The 20-year-old center now has 13 points (8G, 5A), ranking third on his team, fourth among all KHL players under 21, and 14th among players under 25.

The 2024 seventh-round pick has emerged as one of the most underrated prospects in the Blues system. Korotky has been used all over SKA’s lineup this season, from top-line left wing to fourth-line center, but has recently solidified a middle-six role. His responsible two-way game has earned him trust in defensive situations, averaging 1:44 of shorthanded time per night compared to just 0:34 on the power play. He’s also been strong in the faceoff circle, winning 52.5% of his draws (84-for-160). Blues fans will need to be patient for any potential journey to North America for the Russian as Korotky is under contract in Russia through May 2027.
Jiricek Pacing for Breakout OHL Season
Over in the OHL, defenseman Adam Jiricek continues to earn top minutes for the Brantford Bulldogs. The 18-year-old collected a goal and two assists this past week, bringing his season totals to three goals and eight points in 10 games.

After posting 12 points (4G, 8A) in 27 games last season, Jiricek is on pace to shatter those numbers with a projected 20 goals and 53 points over a full 65-game schedule. His blend of poise, skating, and offensive instincts continues to stand out among as he looks to round out his complete game and push for a healthy, complete OHL season.
Pekarcik Finding His Footing
Though the Thunderbirds have had a tough start, Juraj Pekarcik is quietly adjusting well to AHL competition. The 19-year-old winger has recorded points in four of six games, totaling two goals and five points. He currently shares the team lead in scoring with Dvorsky and Nikita Alexandrov, and is currently tied for fifth in points in the AHL among rookies.
Pekarcik’s play away from the puck and steady transition game have earned praise early, showing encouraging signs for his long-term development. While its unlikely he pushes ahead of players like Dvorsky, Alexandrov or Otto Stenberg for an NHL recall, Pekarcik could be a sneaky addition to the NHL lineup as soon as 2026-27.
Loof Nets First AHL Goal
Defenseman Leo Lööf reached a long-awaited milestone this weekend, scoring his first career AHL goal. Now in his third season with Springfield, the 22-year-old blueliner has appeared in 127 career AHL games, collecting 25 total points.

Known more for his physical play and defensive presence, Lööf’s first goal was a well-earned reward for his hard-nosed style.
Goaltending Notes
Will Cranley was reassigned to the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, where he wasted no time making an impact. In his season debut, Cranley stopped 25 of 26 shots en route to his first win of the year. Last season, the 23-year-old posted an 11–9–3 record with a 2.71 GAA and .896 save percentage in 23 games.
Meanwhile, Love Härenstam continued his strong play in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan. The 2025 sixth-round pick went 1–1 over the past week, including a 33-save performance in a 3–1 victory over AIK. Through eight starts this season for Södertälje SK, Härenstam has a 1.61 goals-against average and .931 save percentage. To date, Härenstam ranks second in the league among all netminders who have started at least five games.
