Battlehawks Look To Continue Winning Ways
The St. Louis Battlehawks look to extend their winning streak to three games when they travel to face the Memphis Showboats on Sunday afternoon.
The Battlehawks have pulled into a tie for first place in the XFL Conference with the DC Defenders at 4-2, with the Arlington Renegades one game back at 3-3. Two of those three teams will advance to the UFL playoffs.
Battlehawks Back On The Road
The Battlehawks have enjoyed the comforts of home the past two weeks in winning their last two games, but now they head back on the road where they have a 1-1 record this season.
The Battlehawks were able to win last week despite putting up only 12 points and 171 yards of total offense. Quarterback Max Duggan will look to improve through the air, as he is averaging just 98 passing yards over the last three games.
Showboats Not Showing Much
Memphis comes into this game with a 1-5 record and having scored the second-fewest points in the UFL.
The Showboats have been competitive in most of their games though, as three of their losses have come by a combined seven points.
My Lean
This is the fourth consecutive Battlehawks game where I have leaned under, as I just don’t see a reason to steer away from it here.
The Showboats average just 15.7 points per game, and I could definitely see the Battlehawks holding them under their season average after that fantastic defensive performance against Arlington a week ago.
I’m also not confident the Battlehawks put up a lot of points, as they have become pretty one-dimensional with Duggan under center.
I do expect the Battlehawks to win this game, but if you’re going to bet it, I think the under is the best way to go.
