Mizzou Heads To Nashville
The Missouri Tigers and their high-powered offense head to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The Tigers have eclipsed the century mark in two of their last three games, and KenPom ranks them as the fifth best offensive team in the country. Overall, Mizzou is ranked #11 in KenPom, #12 in the NET, and #14 in the AP poll.
Tigers’ First Half Dominance Continues
Mizzou and Vandy met in Columbia back in January in a game where the Tigers never trailed. Missouri led by nine at halftime and won the statistical battle in rebounds, second chance points, and points in the paint in a 75-66 victory.
That is one of many games where Mizzou has put its foot down on an opponent early. The Tigers are now 20-8 overall and 11-4 in the SEC in covering the first half spread.
Commodores Coming Off Huge Win
The Commodores are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season in an 86-84 victory at Texas A&M on Wednesday. Now at 19-9 overall and with wins over Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas A&M, Vandy has likely punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
But for a program like Vanderbilt, after a huge win that pretty much cements a spot in the Big Dance, the next game represents a prime letdown spot.
My Pick
If you’ve read my last couple Mizzou preview articles, you already know where I’m going.
The Tigers have been destroying teams in the first half. They’ve held double digit leads at the break against quality opponents that include #18 Memphis, Kansas, #3 Florida, Arkansas, #24 Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and #6 Alabama.
I think the Tigers win this game, but I’m more confident they get off to a fast start.
Pick: Missouri -1.5 in the first half on DraftKings
