Earlier this season, the Blues pulled off a surprising trade for longtime Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler. On Dec. 14, Fowler and a 2027 fourth-round pick came to St. Louis, while Jeremie Biakabutuka and a 2027 second-rounder went to the Ducks.
While the name Cam Fowler is well-known by fans of the Ducks and the Pacific Division, Blues fans might not know much about him outside of a stellar performance during the Winter Classic game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Letβs get to know our newest St. Louis Blues defenseman.

Who is Cam Fowler?
Cam Fowler was born on Dec. 5, 1991, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He was drafted 12th overall by the Ducks in the 2010 NHL Draft, where he immediately made an impact. Fowler played 79 games during his rookie season and finished eighth in the Calder Award voting.
He played 991 games for the Ducks, which is second all-time for the franchise behind Ryan Getzlaf. He is fifth all-time in points for the Ducks, behind Getzlaf, Teemu Selanne, Corey Perry, and Paul Kariya.

Fowler is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, which gives him American eligibility. He has played for Team USA in international hockey contests such as the World Juniors and the Olympics. In the 2016-17 season, Fowler made his lone All-Star appearance, representing Anaheim.
As of the writing of this article, Cam Fowler has 101 goals and 369 assists, totaling 470 points for his career. Since joining the Blues, Fowler has 13 points in 20 games played and has settled into the second defensive pairing with Justin Faulk.
