If St. Louis CITY SC wants to improve upon last season's 8-13-13 record, they will need to be able to win away from the newly named Energizer Park. Last year, the team was 1-8-8 on the road, one of the main reasons the team found itself on the outside looking in at the postseason.
CITY SC finished only ahead of Sporting Kansas City and the San Jose Earthquakes in MLS' Western Conference a year ago.
This season, the team will open up at home on February 22 when they host the Colorado Rapids. That will be the first game under new Head Coach Olof Mellberg. The Rapids were 15-14-5 a year ago.

The team's first two matches in the month of March will be out west. On March 1, CITY SC plays the league's newest addition, San Diego FC, which comes in this year as the 30th MLS team. Just over a week later, the team is back out in California, this time playing the defending MLS champion LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park. The Galaxy defeated the New York Red Bulls 2-1 to win their sixth MLS Cup.
The team will return to Energizer Park on March 15 as they will host the Seattle Sounders FC. Seattle made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last season before being knocked out by the Galaxy.
Then it is right back out on the road to Philadelphia to take on the Union at Subaru Park on March 22. Philadelphia did not play particularly well at home in 2024, only winning four of their 17 games to finish with a 4-8-5 record.
The final game in March will be a home match against Austin FC. Austin had the most points of the Western Conference teams last season that did not make it to the postseason.
